For UK wholesalers and distributors on Unleashed, Cin7 Core or Cin7 Omni
Email orders into Unleashed or Cin7, checked and waiting for your approval.
Orders that arrive by email, PDF, photo or text are read, checked against your products, customer prices and stock, and created as Parked sales orders in Unleashed or draft sales orders in Cin7. Your team checks each one, then places, authorises or approves it as they do now.
Or send us one order and see what we’d read and flag, by the end of the next working day.
The problem
The B2B store takes some of the orders. The inbox and the phone take the rest.
Unleashed has its own B2B store, and Cin7 Omni takes orders from online stores, marketplaces and EDI. The orders that arrive any other way still need a person: a café texting a top-up at six in the morning, a buyer emailing a PDF purchase order, a regular who writes “same as last week but double the lids”. Someone reads it, finds the products, checks the price tier and keys it in.
Online ordering sits beside these routes. 73% of the 108 distributors and wholesalers in our study of UK supplier websites offer online ordering, and 48% of those still tell customers to phone, email or give the order to a rep as well. In foodservice, 17 of the 23 wholesalers with online ordering still advertise a phone order line or telesales (the research note).
How it works
Unleashed and Cin7 order automation, step by step.
-
1
Read
Each order is read as it arrived: an email, an attached PDF or spreadsheet, a photo, a text. Customer, products, quantities, units and delivery day come out as order lines.
-
2
Checked
Each line is matched to your products and checked against the customer’s price tier and the stock on hand. Anything that doesn’t match, or a product the customer left vague, is flagged with the reason.
-
3
Waiting in your system
The order is created as Parked in Unleashed or as a draft in Cin7. Your team reads the flags next to the original message, edits what needs it and moves the order on.
An order, for example
A café’s early text to a coffee and catering supplies wholesaler.
Comes in
Morning, can I get 3 cases of the barista oat milk, 2 of the 1kg house blend and some of the compostable 12oz lids. Ta, Rosa, Kiln Coffee
Checked
- Customer matched from the phone number: Kiln Coffee
- Barista oat milk, 3 cases of 6
- House blend 1kg, 2 bags, at Kiln’s price tier
- Compostable 12oz lids: two products match, no quantity given
- In before the 10:00 cut-off for tomorrow’s van
Waits for your approval
Parked sales order · 3 lines · 1 question
Morning Rosa, all fine for tomorrow. For the lids, do you want the box of 1,000 or a sleeve of 50?

Connecting to Unleashed and Cin7
How we would connect to Unleashed, Cin7 Core and Cin7 Omni.
Based on each vendor’s own documentation, checked in October 2026. Cin7 Core and Cin7 Omni are separate products with separate APIs.
- Unleashed
- The Unleashed API can list, view and create sales orders. A new order needs a status, and we would create ours as Parked so your team places them.
- Unleashed statuses
- Unleashed lets you add up to 10 custom statuses on top of Parked, so checked orders can carry one such as “To approve”.
- Unleashed CSV import
- Unleashed can also import sales orders from a CSV template, as new Parked orders, up to 1,000 rows a file. It is a fallback if API access isn’t possible.
- Cin7 Core
- Each sale has a quote stage and an order stage. The API can create the order stage as a draft or authorised. We would leave it as a draft for your team to authorise.
- Cin7 Omni
- The Omni API can create sales orders. In Omni, a draft sales order doesn’t affect Stock Available and has to be approved before goods are dispatched.
- Products, prices and stock
- Read through the same APIs. Unleashed has endpoints for customers, products, sell price tiers and stock on hand. Cin7 Core has them for customers, products, price tiers and stock.
What it costs you today
Small orders, keyed one by one, add up.
The cost is the time spent reading and keying, plus the cost of a wrong delivery. Illustration with invented data: 150 small orders a day by text and email at 3 minutes each is 37.5 hours a week, one full-time person, before any credits or second vans.
Put your own figures into the order desk calculator. It shows the hours and the pounds a year, and it doesn’t guess at savings. If we work together, that figure is the baseline we report against.

Questions
What people ask about Unleashed and Cin7 order automation.
- Does Unleashed have an API for sales orders?
- Yes. The Unleashed API can list, view and create sales orders. Unleashed can also import new Parked orders from a CSV template.
- We use Cin7. Does it matter whether it is Core or Omni?
- They are separate products with separate APIs, and both can create sales orders. In Core a sale order can be saved as a draft before it is authorised. In Omni a draft sales order has to be approved before goods are dispatched.
- Our customers have a B2B store. Why do orders still arrive by email?
- Some customers will always email, text or phone, especially for top-ups and changes to standing orders. Those are the orders that still get keyed by hand.
- Will anything ship before we have checked it?
- No. Orders wait as Parked in Unleashed or as drafts in Cin7 until someone on your team places, authorises or approves them.
- What does it cost?
- The price is fixed and written on the one-page verdict after the session with your team, before you commit to anything. If we don’t find anything worth doing, we’ll tell you and leave.

The Open Build. We’ll build one UK supplier an order desk system, free and in public, measured on its own numbers. Everyone who applies gets a one-page read of their own workflow. Applications close at 5pm UK time on Friday 6 November. See the Open Build.
